TALLGRASS
PRAIRIE RESEARCH
STATION
DEDICATION
May 20, 2004 was the official dedication
of the $1.4 million research station in the Tallgrass Prairie
Preserve. This joint venture between the University of
Tulsa and the Oklahoma chapter of The Nature Conservancy
will provide a 38,000 acre habitat for bison, and living
research laboratory for numerous universities like the
University of Tulsa.
"We now have, within a very special
ecosystem, a building equipped to make research much more
feasible and manageable," said Kerry Sublette, a TU
chemical engineering professor who has conducted research
in the Tallgrass Preserve since 1996. |
