ENGL 3003 Writing for the Professions
Required for ChE program
Catalogue Description: Adapts principles of good writing to writing situations encountered in the professions. Letters, resumes, and a full investigative report in the student’s discipline are required.
Pre-requisites: Junior standing and English 1033

Course Objectives: To understand and make strong rhetorical choices; prepare written texts for entry into the job market; write memoranda, letters, surveys, and proposals; compose an analytical report; practice business language; use critical thinking in the balance between persuasion and ethics; work collaboratively; learn strategies for professional feedback and critique; improve public speaking skills; improve skills in both hard copy and electronic research.

Class/Laboratory Schedule: Three times per week for 50 minutes each class period.
